APOD: 2022 April 21 - Apollo 16 Moon Panorama

Good afternoon, Rallypoint, and welcome to a Throw-back Thursday edition of the Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Apollo 16 Moon Panorama." The date: April 20m 1972. The place: somewhere on the lunar surface in the south-central Descartes Highlands. Astronaut John Young is adjusting a high-gain antennae on the Lunar Rover, and fellow Astronaut Charley Duke is doing the photography work. You can see the Lunar Module Orion off to the left. And that's the way it was....50 years ago. Makes me wonder why scenes may be captured 50 years from today.
