It definitely left a lot to be desired PO1 William "Chip" Nagel...I read the trilogy and the Hobbit in HS and wrote my final English paper on the series. I was disappointed with the cartoon version; however, the later movies were better imho

SPC Nancy Greene I'm a Bit of a Romantic and Cultural Historian. I think I Read the Silmarillion First then Lord of the Rings, then the Hobbit. The First Movie I saw was the Ralph Bakshi version on a Video Disk for Video Disk Player. Now have it in DVD so of course it is My Favorite although it only covers the First Half of the Story. I Also have the Newer Version on DVD. Now Ralphy Baksi is another Matter. Creator of the Movie Fritz the Cat, First X Rated Cartoon and Most Definitely Placed in the 60's. Made Quite a Splash in its time, You weren't Hip or Cool or Current if You. Even My Orthodox Catholic Parents went to see it, since they were Part of the in Crowd, I wouldn't get to see it until I bought a Copy at Barnes and Noble (Talk about a Find) to add it to My Collection/Library. Don't think it would be "Quite" "Appropriate" today due to a Lot of the Caricatures. Not Quite "PC".

I think most of the movies made before 2010 would definitely not be “PC” by today’s standards...”Easy Rider” and “Strawberry Statement” come to mind. Wonder what the ‘woke’ would say about the movie “Nine to Five”? lolPO1 William "Chip" Nagel

SPC Nancy Greene - Woke? Culturally Aware? Sensitive about Others? Like Someone on the Spectrum? Aspergers Like Me? Someone that works in very much more Culturally Diverse Community? Now "Woke" was a Term Some Time ago in the "Ethnic" Community and for Some Strange Reason the "Conservative" "Republican" world became aware of the Word Much More Recently and Use it as a "Slam" If Someone Calls Me "Woke" I will take it as a Compliment.

I was raised to be accepting of all races and religions. I am extremely sarcastic and some of the funniest jokes I know would probably be viewed as ‘offensive’. I just think there are more important things to focus energy on other than feelings. I have had my ‘feelings’ hurt throughout my life. I joined the Army when Soldiers didn’t want women in their foxholes,. I was a Probation/Parole Officer in a male dominated professional. I have also worked with autistic and Down’s syndrome clients along with dual diagnosis clients. I don’t pass judgment on anyone and try to get along with a variety of people. “Variety is the Spice is Life”! LOLPO1 William "Chip" Nagel
