They still think it’s an viable option :

1.) Vauhxx Booker : black activist details 'attempted lynching' by group of white men in Indiana – video

2.) FBI investigating reported Indiana alleged lynching attempt

Warning: Video contains disturbing content. Discretion is advised. The FBI and Justice Department said this week they are investigating an alleged “attempted lynching” incident in Indiana after a Black activist said he was attacked by a group of white people after accidentally walking through private property near Lake Monroe on July 4.

3.) 2 Indiana men charged in assault on Black man, threat to ‘get a noose’

Perhaps the headline isn’t misleading at all PO1 Jeff Chandler

“His Kentucky constituents symbolically lynched him in the same month Demark Vesey was actually hanged in 1822, the Confederate Congress proclaimed black Union soldiers should be enslaved or executed in 1863, and Ida B. Wells resolved to leave Memphis after rampant lynchings in 1892.”

Opinion: Andy Beshear is just fine after 'symbolic' lynching by white supremacists

RICKY L. JONES | OPINION CONTRIBUTOR | 9:43 am EDT May 27, 2020

“Attached to the Beshear dummy was the scrawl, “sic semper tyrannis”

(Translation: thus always to tyrants). With that doff of the cap to John Wilkes Booth, who spoke the same words after assassinating the “race-traitor” Abraham Lincoln in 1865, the protesters once again bared their racist fangs.

This makes sense for a group of “patriots” who often show up to such rallies with protest signs, guns AND Confederate flags as they “fight against tyranny” across the country.”

That is interesting my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel
I realize some are in favor of hate crime as an additional charge. I can't think of many serious crimes that could be labeled love crimes. Yet love is the root of many murders.
Since lynching is murder it has been a capital crime for at least 100 years. I wonder how many tax dollars were consumed to pass this bill and the other bills trying to ban lynching which is illegal.
What do you think about this my friends?

Thank You Brother Steve for this story. I wonder who it was that did a lot of the lynching? For some reason I want to say it was the KKK. Wasn't the KKK the militant arm of the democrats? I'm starting to see some hypocrisy here. Correct me if I'm wrong.
