Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the February 6th Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Blue Marble Earth." I remember when this photo was taken by the crew of Apollo 17 on their way to the Moon in December 1972. In its almost 50-year history, this picture is thought to be one of the most widely distributed images ever captured. You see that small swirl on the upper right of the globe? That's Cyclone 16B. It later hit the Indian city of Culladore with wind gusts of 150 kph (~93 mph) when it made landfall.
