Going to diverge from some other opinions. Going to agree with Gov. Lujan for once. I like it. Good role models for the kids. Teaching is not some arcane mystery that can't be learned. Comes natural to some folks. Sub teaching is a foot in the door. Time to ramp up Troops to Teachers. Contrary to Xiuhtecutli Soto, it is good for kids to be around troops and see the other side of Soto's narrative.

So you're going to have a 19 year old specialist diesel mechanic teaching a HS class? It's good to have the kids around the troops, but having PFC Schmuckatelli being a "counselor" as the Governor indicated? I don't think so. He'll probably end up looking for HS girls to date.

I think I said I was likely to have a divergent opinion. Yes, given your example a little skepticism might be in order. Their example was a 25yr old lab tech at Los Alamos. Nationwide, 55% of teachers begin teaching between 20 - 25 years old (looked it up). And, if news gets anything right, male or female, many are getting a little student side action.
P.S. as an old engineer qualed on diesel and 600lb steam, was that a slap at diesel mechs? :-)):-))
