Privilege Bingo: Military Kids Need to Check their Privilege?

We have military families on food stamps....or using food banks.
We have military kids living in homes with severely injured service members
Military kids living in single parent households or with a guardian because their parent is deployed.
Military kids who say goodbye to a deploying parent and the next time they "see" them is at the funeral.
Very privileged.
I've lost my ability to be civil on this one.

Privileged...BS...Military kids are more resilient than other kids because of the hardships they have to face as a military family but privileged...NOT! In todays environment God forbid you be a white military kid...I guess that comes with double privilege.

In some ways Military kids are privileged, but those privileges come with a price. Unlike most kids growing up many kids get to see several parts of the US and many see one or more foreign countries. That also means they don't get to have the lifelong friendships that non military kids have.
This DOES NOT give anyone the right to tell any kids that they are or are not privileged, ALL kids need to know they can be successful or regardless of their background.
There are so many examples of POC being successful at what they have chosen, its more important to have confidence in your own ability and work at it. Nothing worthwhile comes easy.
