Great, kill the Keystone XL pipeline and cost both the US and Canada thousands of jobs and force it to go by rail instead of by pipeline. Don't buy from Canada which is close by, No buy from Russia and also let and encourage Russia to build their pipelines. Screw both the United States and Canada but help Russia ? It sounds very much like collusion to Me with Russia by Biden.

Some of those here on Rally Point are protecting our asinine president saying that no Canadian jobs were affected. I am only 125 miles away from Fort McMurray and the local paper reported on local job losses. This may have just been one small section of the pipeline.

Just like in the USA, Canada has a large population that hates the oil patch. It hates oil and energy but this province is forced to give up about 75% of the money that it earns to Equalization two broke ass provinces who rely on it for their social welfare spending. We just passed a resolution in the province saying they want to stop the giveaway of royalties. Canada gets 40% of its economy from oil and energy. The green radical-left similar to the AOC and Bernie Sanders Knuckleheads have majorities in other legislators especially on the east and west coasts. Let's not forget about Quebec. The conundrum is they want the money but they want the oil and gas to stay in the ground.

We are not talking about the oil Russia produces which is a higher grade then this oil from Tar Sands. To get the Tar Sands there are 2 methods. One method is strip mining. So your support for that pipeline means you support strip mining untouched forests and destroying that eco system. So do you believe in strip mining and are willing to pay a higher price for oil? The price of the pollution of the Aquifer in Nebraska. The emission of 3 times more green house games then regular oil production. Then there is the issue of the acidity of the oil which will eat through a pipeline. And how about the petroleum coke left behind after processing that crap.

Are you really worried about oil shale or tar sands, lisa or are you just anti-oil. Have you ever looked up lithium mining or the hazards of disposing lithium batteries?

Cpl (Join to see) - Excellent point not only the damage to the environment from the mining process but no safe way to dispose of that is a very hazardous waste that doe's NOT break down and become safe. The picture here shows the batteries that are in a Tesla vehicle which runs the entire underside of the car. This contains 6,831 Lithium Batteries They have burst into flame for no apparent reason within the vehicle and took a good eight hours for the fire to be put out. Tesla got better miles per trip maximum at only 300 Miles before needing a charge, some other makes barley over 100 miles. Don't plan any long trips, these cars won't make it without a recharge which takes a LOT longer than filling up Your gas tank which leaves no leftover waste to dispose of. (emissions into the air is a different subject) Advancing with research on electric vehicles I feel is a good idea but they are not yet practical with the technology now available which isn't very practical. Is the idea to keep people isolated so they can't travel very far which in a electric vehicle the are unable to do currently ? A disturbing thought and more a question than a statement of fact but a lack of trust of both government and links to certain industries. .
