This is almost straight propaganda, supported largely by conjecture.

I am very much against targeting the messenger rather than the message. But that does not mean we ignore the messenger and their potential biases. India is strongly anti-Pakistan and even more strongly anti-ISI. If you read the article with this understanding and a critical eye to spotting biases, the article starts to fall apart.

Finally, the article consistently discusses the LONG TERM viability of IS-K to downplay their overall threat. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter if they will fade from existence in 5 years if they are busy killing people NOW.

(Plus there are some arguments based on false assumptions, but the author is not here to defend those, so I will only discuss the writing style and narrative, not the specific faulty arguments.)

"The Taliban remain committed to establish their version of the 7th century utopia with all the floggings, amputations and public stoning. Al Qaida and its South Asian version remains present in Afghanistan and their relationship with the Taliban is still very much intact."
The article refers to groups, like the Taliban as extreme." Why call them extreme? Are they following Muhammad?
The US appears to have sided with the Taliban. The Taliban is now the best armed militia in the world. Courtesy of the American tax payer. They will threaten to gain what they want or need. All the while following Muhammad's orders. What were those orders?
"Believers, make war on the Infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them. Know that Allah (the god/my god of the Kaaba) is with the righteous."
Why our military is busy with WOKEism, our southern border is wide open. Perhaps, we should have a new narrative. One that recognizes Islam is at war with the world. Both Shia and Sunni. Both physical and cultural. For Islam not to do so would be Apostate.
Have a great day Sir. Thank you for posting on RP.

SGT (Join to see) - Was it my word choice, tone or grammar that led you to classify my post with a noun of your choosing? Or, are you upset that I insinuated Muhammad was an extremist? Well, was he? Did he murder and rape? Has Islam, for the last 1400yrs shown itself to be following Muhammad?
It might be better for you Anonymous to bend over, place some KY on your arse and put your head in the ground covering your ears and shouting Islam is a religion of Peace! Islam is a religion of Peace!

I agree with you Mark on the US and the Taliban - and we will be burned for that because some have thought they can buy them off. They never learn - but they are all concerned for the short term anyway and not long term. Now what I liked about this Indian article was that it did what No US think tank has done - and asked questions on the US relation and the Pakistan relation and why the need for IS-K to be the boogyman. Without them -- how would one sell that US relations with the Taliban? I still think the real threat is from AQ and its pledged factions -- and threat they have taken advantage of our stupidity here in the US and our non-secured border. IS is a threat in many places - but did they take the steps to get cells into the US remains unknown.
