Yes, when all the other branches get all the fancy equipment and fame, it is hard to forget that the Coast Guard has been in every major engagement since it was created.

Fantastic history on the Coast Guard in Vietnam, I knew they were there, never saw any of them, but they did a great job.

They are the unsung hero's of our wars that we tend to forget. And I am sure my father who was a Marine in Vietnam would say the same thing. Just like him seeing the damage done by the B-52's.

Thanks Army! I'm old but not that old. I had to look up the new rating for EN-2 (MK-2) so I could join the group. Squadron 1 had so many volunteers during Nam that I was turned down twice.
