'Giant arc' stretching 3.3 billion light-years across the cosmos shouldn't exist

Lt Col Charlie Brown Great post. In addition to its size, another arc mind-bender is time. The arc is 9.2 billion light years away. That means the light has been travelling that long to get to us. Which also means the information being presented comes from a time when the Universe was much smaller (~1.8 times) than it is now. Who's to say this isn't evidence of a 'Big Bang' shock wave? Fun stuff.

Isn't that what exploration is all about, finding newer, and bigger things? Lets keep things in perspective the more we look the more we're going to find, I don't think there should be any set rules, and the only stratagey is to keep looking and exploring.
