We mostly ignore those calls. I do have a little machine that makes noise and sometimes I play it!

The live salespeople are one thing. The robot sales-pitches another, and the scams, like supposed IRS "debt settlement" offers yet another level of annoyance.
I save my ire and amusement for the scammers. I had one who said he was an FBI agent, and wanted me to help round-up some scammers using my credit card to buy an i-phone delivered to a California address by Amazon.
I had 4 of those messages about the i-phone charged to my account at Amazon going to the same address in CA, but all with different numbers to call if you wanted to cancel the charge. A check of my account at Amazon showed no such charge.
