The Irish, Italians, Germans in this country have all faced this. After a generation, they could walk down the street and be indistinguishable from the the majority. The problem for Asians, African Americans, some Hispanics and Native Americans is that they remain distinguishable generation after generation.

Institutional racism does not exist. Racism between individuals exists, but not institutional racism. BTW, a portion of every ethnic group commits racism. Racism isn't a white phenomenon.

I disagree. Look at the promotion results, it shows that they took a certain percentage of every race, rather than choosing the best from everyone.
I was denied promotion to MSG because they chose others less qualified that were of different ethnicities. If the army doesn't treat everyone with the same standards across the board, and instead, utilizes affirmative action - that is institutional racism by definition...

SFC Jake Middaugh I partially agree with you. Partially not to demean or negate your comment, but to say affirmative action isn't consistently or uniformly applied. I'd completely agree if the policy stated only from a certain set of ethnicities or races to the complete exclusion of one or a few others.
