The Colonel’s Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!
Be who you are. Good advice. Part of what seems to be happening with a large portion of our population is the comparison between oneself and what they see on social media. It was problem with some magazines and television but with social media bombarding people 24/7, those who are susceptible are having real difficulty. This is part of the driver behind our teen suicide rate. There is something of a reality check when you are physically in the same space; when you are in a virtual environment that truthfulness isn't there. I realize I am sort of off topic but I am getting a lot of calls from concerned parents right now and so this is sort of "top of the mind" for me.
It's important that we figure out who we are and then be the best version of that person; trying to be someone else just ends up with an outer appearance and an inner emptiness.

“Who are you? That is the question and message for today. Being who you are is so important and the one thing you should hold on to. Always stay to true to who you are no matter what situation your faced with. As stated above…
“The moment you accept yourself, you grow.” — Xan Oku
Surrounding yourself with positive influencers and getting rid of the negative people in your life can help define who you are, where you want to go, and your purpose in life…
‘You are…the people you surround yourself with.’ — Unknown Author
May you always be that person what you think about, what you go for, and what you do in life; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Trust yourself, your values, and your character. Be your true self.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I pray that each of us are confident in the LORD and that we completely trust YOU, YOUR impeccable character, and YOUR Word. In this personally challenging season of infection risk; potential of government overreach; and alternately lackadaisical response from local through higher level government; I pray that each of us is sure of our personal standing in YOUR eyes, dear LORD. ‘For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.’ [Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV]
I pray for peace and comfort for each one grieving tonight including widows, widowers, divorcees, the homeless, the evicted, and the outcasts of society dear LORD. I pray that YOU punctuate their grief with joy in YOUR perfect timing. I thank YOU for raising good listeners to come alongside and meet them at their needs for human companionship 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight'. [Romans 12:15-16 ESV]
I lift the trustworthy and solid character government, military, business, & industry leaders, administrators and managers to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each one with sufficient knowledge, skill and wisdom to lead those who rely on them. I pray that YOU bless each with trustworthy people to work with them and in support of them. I pray that YOU motivate each one to use their time, talents and resources to bless as many as they should. ‘What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.’ [James 2:14-17 ESV]
