It has been a very tough scenario for the last 12 plus months trying to find ammo...in MA...

Rick I am not trying to cop out because it is the truth, it is different every time you grab/strap on a gun. On some of my deployments I carried 18+ sometimes more it I thought a fight was more likely and that was just the M4 plus the M9.
At home, most of the time just one magazine however, I try to do a threat assessment every time before I walk out the door. If I find myself going to some places that may be a little sketchy I will carry more plus make sure I have studied the threat of where I am going and what makes it higher; i.e. being there certain times of day, being alone, acting a certain way or doing certain things. The truth is I have found out as I get older I have discovered I am very fucking mortal so I try to stay away from high threat areas.
Rick I preach it and preach it you can have a truck load of guns and ammo but if you can hit your target you can't neutralize your target. A wise man once told me and it has stuck with me ever since, "you can miss fast enough to win a gun fight". He was talking to a young badass on the range who was popping off double taps, and looked and sounded like a pro but he was not hitting shit. So if the threat is still there the threat will kill you. On that same note I have had guys tell me they were hoarding ammo for the apocalypse, my response, cool but how often do you get a little trigger time practicing? Sorry for going on and on but I guess I like to hear myself type
