The Battle of Imphal in the Northeastern Frontier Agency of British Raj in India was where the Japanese Empire was ousted from Burma and the India's northeastern territories. Indeed, this was the turning point in WWII. The Battle of Kohima was fought in 1944, three years before India earned independence from the British Crown.
