This link shows the PFT standards for men and women. It is time to re-name the United States Marine Corp. Perhaps Group Hug Corp, Hand Holding Corp, or Space Corp?
One can not be a rifleman, I'm sorry, I mean, a rifleperson with such low PFT scores in the Marine Corp. That is one reason why I write change the name. Plus, how can one be special operation capable with such minimums? That is the second reason. There are others.
Please, make the death of the United States Marine Corp a quick one. This long drawn out one is torture.
I bet a paycheck Marine Corp Raider, SEALS, the NFL and Rugby teams have not lowered their physical requirements.

SSgt Thomas L. - I'm sure the CHICOMMS, Russians and many Islamic terrorist outfits will enjoy knowing the United States Marines will be fit. But not strong. I was under the impression, in a fight having both fitness and strength are important. Not to mention aggression.
You are correct SSgt. There is a huge difference between men and women. A high PFT, a difficult PFT ensures the non-hackers are weeded out. Kind of like what the NFL, Men's Rugby, Marine Corp Raiders, SEALS, Rangers...do.

If someone can pass the 03XX training to become an infantry MOS in the MC, they earned it and deserve it. They do not have two different training tracks for MOS's. The PFT is not the "strength training test". It's the Physical Fitness Test. Passing the training course for a combat MOS is not the same as the standardized PFT that all Marines of all MOS's must meet.

SSgt Thomas L. - All I'm writing, as it appears on paper, is the female PFT is half of the men's. You wrote it is due to difference between the two. I agree.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - The difference is that you're bellyaching about the PFT standards. I'm not.
