I went through the SDVOSB process this past September for my LLC. It is a bit of a frustrating bureaucratic hassle but it can be done reasonably efficiently. I think that it is worth the effort. Once I was able to document my LLC's SDVOSB certified status two potential subcontracts with government primes became available and I am now working on a third.
