We can't carry at the polls in Florida, and the early voting location I voted at is a Sheriff's Department Substation, so double no-no.

Oklahoma allows ~anybody~ of legal age (who aren't specifically banned) to openly carry firearms in public. They do not need a background check, training on firearm use, or even firearm safety. I'm a homegrown Texan who can't recall a time I didn't know firearm safety. Mother made history in her leadership position for our Sheriff's Office and we were taught to shoot a loooong time ago. My sister in OK has 5 weapons in her mini-arsenal and cannot shoot straight to save her life, literally. She hadn't fired a sidearm or a long barrel in at least 30 years, but she didn't HAVE to refresh her memory, so she didn't and she hasn't and she won't. She just plays with it because it feels so good to shoot! She carries 24/7. The state of Oklahoma is being overwhelmed with people (like my sister!) who accidentally shoot themselves or others (while sending covid patients out-of-state for treatment bc of lack of beds). If ~we~ see accidents (who doesn't recall the occasional discharge of a weapon in a drawer in combat zones?) with our familiarity and constant use/training, how dangerous are these civilians? I believe the Constitution called for a "well trained" militia, not a wild, wild West fumbling, well-meaning group of patriots shooting up the place...
