I'd like to add one more name to that list when it comes to Leadership vs authority. Capt Al Fletcher, US Army Ranger. Al started out his career as enlisted, serving in Viet Nam, then became a Mustanger. When he took command of his first company, again in Nam, he announced he'd take point on patrol. Though his men said he shouldn't do that, he told them "I can't order you to do something I'm not willing to do". He would quietly go on to help other vets through the years, in any way he could, all across the country. That teaching has stuck with me through the years. "Ranger Al" got his transfer orders to his final command (Fiddlers Green) in 2005, after living with terminal cancer for a while.. He was my mentor and a Brother. His Infantry OCS ring has a special place of honor here with me. I was a Navy Corpsman. It's said that a grunt Corpsman would go through Hell to get a wounded Marine. We would...the same applied for Ranger Al.

National leaders through local leaders are elected/appointed for our collective benefit or judgement [Hitler, Stalin, Idi Dada Amin, Pol Pot]. Within the family the husband is responsible to God for the raising of the family and condition of the marriage. Husband and wife are equal and complimentary in a solid marriage. ‘Wives submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. It is reasonable to confront authority by voting to change who is in office and policies enacted at local levels as well as peaceful protest exemplified by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and many of the non-violent protests of the 1960’s and 1970’s. As far as those who deliberately resort to violence to meet their own agenda, they are subjecting themselves to investigation, arrest and trial by local authorities and the wrath of God in HIS perfect timing. 'Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? [Romans 13:1-4 ESV]
LORD I pray for an increase in peace and love in each family that includes YOUR adopted sons and daughters in the USA, Australia, India, UK, Canada, and Mexico especially. Let husbands and wives submit to each other in mutual love and respect. I pray that parents exercise wisdom, consistency, and discernment as they raise their children in the love and admonition of the LORD.

LTC Stephen F. - I'm Mohawk and follow Native Spiritual teachings. Can we all just agree we all pray to the same God and stop the centuries old fight about religion?
