What About Attending a Trade School Instead of College?

I think trade/vocational tech schools are definitely worth more than traditional colleges and universities. I say this as someone who attended a traditional university and earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.
I wish someone had told me to go learn how to weld, or install/maintain/fix HVAC systems, or anything else that is actually USEFUL to society. It wasn't until I went to 88L2O School (at the age of 48) that I learned the basics of welding, HVAC, electrical systems, etc.
My son didn't go to college, but works at Tesla, on their Model 3 line, in the battery department. I told my daughter that I don't care what it is, but she WILL learn a practical skill that will be useful to the community in some way; whether it's growing vegetables to hunting, to gun repair, or building solar/wind power systems, she will learn something useful.
To conclude: when your plumbing system gets stopped-up, or your electrical system gets fried, or your A/C goes out on a hot day, who do you call? Do you call someone with a degree in Minority Interpretive Dance, or do you call a licensed technician who can fix it? Oh and you're going to PAY that tech a lot of money, especially if it's outside normal business hours, or on a weekend or holiday.
