Ambition- shoot for the stars. If you try, you might surprise yourself.
My father was a simple Iowa farmer, never finished the 8th grade, yet taught us always that we could be anything we wanted to be as long as we worked hard enough. Five of his seven kids have advanced degrees, including a PhD. Two of his grandkids are professors. One of his kids and four of his grandkids are or were military officers, one an academy graduate.
If you want to be a farmer, good on you, be a good one, it's a great life. If you want to do something else- shoot for the stars.

I pray that each parent and grandparent is helping their children/grandchildren to formulate goals for their life short-term and long-term. I pray that we each are great listeners and that we have patience as we interact with teenagers and other young people. I pray that extended family members and close friends are involved with the children and that we each work together for the best of the children.
I pray that we demonstrate faith in YOU by treating our family, friends, coworkers, neighbors and those who serve us with respect and honor. I pray that YOU use each of us with logic, reasoning and great listening as YOU guide each of us to assist others trying to fulfill their own ambition.
I pray that we teach our children reasoning skills and logic and that we help our adult children to teach the grandchildren to think logically. I pray for good humor as we teach the young about how to think well.
I lift the widows, widowers, divorcees and grieving to YOU. I pray that YOU bless each with one with rest, compassion and love commensurate to their grief. I pray that YOU restore hope to each one.
