Nothing new here. In days of iron men sailing wooden ships, each crew member brought his own knife and if it had a sharp tip, the boatswain would break it off. Why? For the same reason the Brits are making knives with square tips. Will it help? Hell no...

MSgt (Join to see), this has been going on since 1637, when Cardinal Richelieu invented the table knife. Then, “In 1669, King Louis XIV of France banned pointed knives – at the table and as weapons – to try put an end to the culture of violence of the time. This further cemented the position of the round-ended table knife as preferred form of cutlery.”
Not really making light of your observations. I agree with you about the alien travel ban!
