It was approximately 2 p.m. when they pulled up to a port of entry near Blaine, Washington. “We go frequently,” Crystal explained. “It’s never been a huge problem.” This time was different. While still in their vehicle, Crystal said a Customs and Border Protection officer asked her parents if they were born in Iran. “Did you immigrate, or are you a refugee?” she recalled the officer asking. “What is your occupation? When is the last time you went to Iran?” The officer picked up a phone and made a call.

I say good for the agency, we have been threatened for a long time and our borders need more security.

My response is "so what"? The country of Iran has ratched up the threats; our bases have had the security level heightened, we should be doing the same at our borders.

If these Americans who happen to be of Iranian decent are being singled out at our borders, will they also be singled out at our government buildings, our colleges and universities and other schools? Is what happened to the Americans of Japanese descent during WW2 about to happen again ? Should we as Americans encourage this ? They are just as Americans as we are .

SGT Lou Meza - Obviously as said by others they hold DUAL citizenship. Therefore in my opinion they are not really fully American.
I am an American, descended from Americans, I put America first and cannot understand the mentality of anyone who doesn't. I don't hyphenate my heritage either.
As I stated in my first comment, I believe in profiling. When they came through our border citizen or not they should have been look at closely until determined they held no threat.
Have you not heard of domestic terrorist? Have you never heard of Muslim sympathizers supporting terrorist with money and training with them?
That is my justification for the way I would conduct business, American or not.
I could rant for hours but I will restrain myself as it will do no good for it seems you have determined protecting this country and citizens do not deserve the full effort.
