It's a fascinating question. It's also quite possible that the Left misses the point because they believe their own propaganda. For example, that conservative parties are the party of big business, corporations and the rich. How can they seek the truth when they start so far from it?

I disagree with the MSG.
IMO, the children of those who grew up in the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's mostly love their country and believe in truth. They believe in hard work and the country has borders. That freedom has limits. You might write these types of individuals are 20th century throwbacks. When America was great When America was a place as well as an idea. When America was working on it's problems. Before NAFTA, GATT and all things are realitive. After JFK, RFK, MLK and Malcome X were murdered, it helped America to go down a different agenda.
The Left appears to hate this concept of the individual is sovereign. That there is truth instead of realitivity (If it feels good do it.) Add to this thought process and agenda to destory American culture of limited government and independence from same, American culture is hated in favor of a more world view. If one does not agree with the left's view of open borders and large central government and weaking the middle class though unfair trade while importing the enemy into these United States, one is marginalized.
Why would anyone think to marginalize a fellow American just because they do not agree with you? That is what a Nazi would do.

The left are mostly just angry, projecting self serving puppets to their masters. The left never met a tax they didn't love or want to increase. Like a shitty parent they tend to buy support from their voters by giving and promising free stuff. They thrive of making citizens dependent on them for everything while surrendering their freedoms one bit at a time. The left paint anyone not them as violent power hungry evil fill in the Phobe monsters. When you actually look at who is doing what you can see they project their inner most demons on others so they can feel good about themselves as always. They are so lost in their fantasy that they cut their own throats trying to defend their mistakes, just look at any city that has been under their stewardship for any time and you see what America would look like if they very came to full power. Their drone supporters are what empowers them as they soak up the propaganda and defend it at all cost even when it will affect them in a bad way down the line. They either lack critical thinking skills or possess the memory of a goldfish.

It's my theory that many on the left not only have a sick twisted thought process, they can't conceive of anyone else thinking differently -- not in what they think, but in how they think. So OF COURSE anyone with a gun is a potential murderer! Because if they think violent thoughts and lack self control, then everyone else must as well.

They do believe their own propaganda. In their effort to brainwash the masses, they also brainwash themselves. You can see it in their polls (undersampling Republicans, oversampling Democrats, selective presentation, etc.), in their panels (a bunch of leftists with a token milquetoast former Republican), in their hysteria and character assassination. They spew vitriol, which helps bolster their own beliefs along with their base, but it doesn't do much to persuade the middle, especially when they're caught in lies.
