You mean that ‘phony’ part of the Constitution. That the president claim he follows to the letter.

It's not a violation of the emoluments clause. Might want to read that clause again. To be a violation he would have to accept titles, gifts or bribes from foreign powers, which is not what would have occurred. As long normal rates were applied that is simply doing business as normal and emoluments clause does not apply. If a room rents out for 300 a day, ANYONE can rent that room. Anyone from the leader of a foreign country straight down to an iowa farm boy.
Where emoluments comes in is Trump is given AND accepts a title, a gift that is in excess of a certain dollar amount that goes unreported and/or a bribe. Simply doing business is none of the above. He's not receiving compensation from the Federal or State government and no, employees of same staying at his hotels is not compensation as they are buying a service that is offered by that business.

Whether it is technically a violation of the emoluments clause or not, it is an abuse of power and a conflict of interest. There are many other business people out there that would love to host this event on one of their properties.....but what chance did they have when competing against a Trump property? Say you have a councilman in you home town that owns a trash collection company....one of three such companies in your town. Suddenly, all trash pick up in town is awarded to his company, putting the other two companies out of business. Abuse of power? Unethical in the highest degree? Someone you might want to recall? Same thing here....but on a larger scale.

I do wish someone would bring charges against President Trump. I get tired holding my breath and awaiting Adam Schiff’s ongoing and numerous accusations to be presented as actual charges! PO1 William "Chip" Nagel
