Just shows you why parents need to do some homework before investing hard earned money in a college education for their son or daughter. Check out who is teaching at that college or university.

Again, you're abusing the tags. The Mental Health and Professionalism tags are inappropriate for this post. Don't use the tags as adjectives to try to characterize whatever it is that you're posting about.

If an individual has problem with the tagging process, please do not call the admin Dr. Censorship or be critical of their actions just because of their profession. They're doing exactly what RallyPoint asked them to do when they volunteered to be a member admin. Your problem is with the tagging guidelines, not the admins administrating them SSgt Joseph Baptist

Okay I'm going to chime in here even though I feel SSG Carlos Madden really hit the nail on the head. As LTC Kevin B. mentioned, tagging is a way for the site to sort posts into what we hope is a good and clean set of "folders" if you will. It also allows users to follow tags that they find are the most interesting to them. The tags should be connected to the SUBJECT MATTER not the person's personal belief in what the topic talks about. So if someone posts something about Underwater basket weaving, that should the tag, nothing more. As I mentioned before, RallyPoint is a privately held and moderated platform. RP reserves the right to change or delete any post and/or account deemed to be inappropriate or outside the core values of this site.

As far as the admins go, regardless of our statues here, we are still allowed to interact with posts which can include a downvote. One note about downvoting, this does not make us aware of any sort of concern about a post. We simply can't track that. There are a handful of admins and over 250,000 members making countless posts a day. All the user admins are volunteers and hand-selected based on several factors. Our actions are monitored and if someone is abusing his/her admin status, that status will be revoked. The admin team is made up of people from different political, religious, and any other demographic information you can think of. One word of warning to SSgt Joseph Baptist is that personal attacks ARE NOT tolerated. Any further action like that towards anyone regardless of admin status or not, will not be tolerated and I will personally suspend your account. We are supposed to be a professional network of military professionals, failure to do so will result in your suspension from the site with or without any further notification. This isn't just meant for Mr. Baptist but is meant to serve as a reminder to anyone that might read this. If anyone has any questions or concerns, you can feel free to send me a message directly or to post a comment and tag me.

SSgt Joseph Baptist - I didn't make anything up and no one told you what you're thinking. While this may seem like a personal attack, it is not. I'm genuinely confused what conflict of interest exists or what a college instructor has to do with anything.

SSgt Joseph Baptist - we are doing our job. Tags were missed and adjusted. There is a huge difference between calling someone a name and some saying to look a word up.

And yes, downvotes are there as the first step because just like in the military, we try to resolve things at the lowest level. Downvotes can be a reminder to a user that his/her behavior is out of line. Hence the reduction in points. If the behavior continues then you can report the post to the admins and we can take action.

As far as LTC Kevin B.'s actions, all things are reviewed by the community manager and senior admins. A lot of this is done behind the scenes because again, we try to solve things at the lowest level.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, RallyPoint is a private and moderated forum. If you are not happy with our rules or guidelines, feel free to leave.
