Thanks for sharing Maj Marty Hogan death masks were common in the past and since chemical warfare was introduced in WWI lots of countermeasures including various and sundry protective masks for gas attacks from humans to horse were developed.
To me these images are not creepy at all. My paternal grandfather fought in the trench warfare of WWI along with his brother and many other British young men.

Wow, WWI is fascinating to study. A lot of our modern medicine and technology can be traced back to the two World Wars.
