I read the book by this title in two days this week. She was amazing but I can't help but wonder how much sooner France might have been liberated had she been given the authority to run networks as she should have. Collaborators, double spies, money wasters and just plain incompetence were rampant but they wouldn't give any authority to a woman.

She sounds like the character in Lillian Hellman's memoirs that was made into the Vanessa Redgrave/Jane Fonda movie "Julia".
