We do sort of have something that blurs lines. The Air Guard and Reserve pilots who fly civil in peacetime and military in wartime and also part time in peace to fulfill their military duty time. I don't see a reason why both military and civilians can't train pilots for both.

I am civilian trained and will never see the inside of a military cockpit. We have so many rules and that is a huge part of the numbers game. I would take a rank reduction to fly full-time but because I am at 18yrs and learned on the civilian side, will never happen.
