Saturday night’s Topic: “Living With and Understanding PTSD, a TBI, SCI, and MST!”

When you or a loved one experience a traumatic situation or suffer a life-altering injury, you’re suddenly thrown into an unfamiliar situation. If you’ve suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), you could find yourself hospitalized for days, weeks, or months depending on the severity of your injuries. Living with and understanding TBI or SCI are a very important part of the healing process.

When someone experiences Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) or Military Sexual Trauma (MST), their perceptions, reactions, and emotional states are commonly affected. Although PTSD, TBI, and PTSD from MST share common symptoms, they are separate diagnoses. There also can be some overlap between PTSD, MST, TBI, and Spinal Cord Insjuries as suffering an SCI, TBI, or MST experience can lead to the onset of PTSD.
