When I was a kid growing up was taught a playground song about Mrs O'Leary's Cow which was really a taunting song meant to infuriate folks of Irish Ethnicity at the time of the fire. Just wanted to point out that whole version of events on the Chicago fire was a thinly vieled attack on Irish immigrants at the time and meant to instill hatred against the Irish by the Chicago political machine. I'd like to think things have changed since then but I am still seeing the same party divide the country by race and ethnicity. Just once I would like to hear a Democrat give a speech with the term "We as Americans" instead of the "us vs them" theme they prefer to use.

Exactly right CPT Jack Durish . In some places people are still about helping their neighbors do for themselves while in others, they wait for the government to show up.

Always lots of noise until the taxpayer money is distributed to those other than the citizens in need. The poorest are always at the end of the food chain and have little input on how the money is used. Nothing new, it happens every time a disaster occurs.
