Networking is vital. A former NYSE President said that every job he ever had came through networking.
I've heard it commonly reported (including by myself) during some economic times that you can't get a job unless you know someone. The answer is to get to know more people. Make yourself a valuable asset in people's networks.

This is very true; you literally cannot start networking too early!

80+% jobs come from referrals (gotta know someone)...upwards of 95+% recruiters use LinkedIn (make a profile).

45% if employers/hiring managers/recruiters will bypass you for no or negative online presence!

Start now and start often!
