Germany to strip ISIS fighters of their citizenship

Welcome to the real world, where unlawful combatants become victims, and then displaced victims in the the eyes of the liberal humanist Left. What to do, what to do? Seems to be an awful lot of squirming going on, which will quickly turn into a big game of hot potato. If citizenship is dropped, who then gets to care for the detained person? Are they a detained person, spy, unlawful combatant, protected person, civilian, or lawful combatant? The US military has a very neat and tidy way to go about the business of determining who is what, why and how, with regard to persons collected on the battlefield whose status is in question. I served in an Army Military Police Enemy Prisoner of War Brigade Liaison Detachment from 1999-2008. I was deployed to the US military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2002, and to Iraq in 2004-2005. The way it was supposed to work is that detainees whose status is in question would receive a tribunal to determine their status. Once determined, they would be deposed according to the law. In general, after the end of hostilities, the detainee would be repatriated to their country of origin, unless they were accused of war crimes. The International Committee of the Red Cross would help facilitate this transfer, like after the First Gulf War when thousands of lawful combatant Iraqi soldiers were returned to Iraq within days after the end of that conflict. Where is the ICRC now? They need to be involved to help sort things out! If countries can simply deny citizenship, who gets left holding the detainee bag? Will the liberal Left humanists come out of the woodwork offering to take in these displaced persons? What about trials for those accused of war crimes? Nobody seems to want to send any of them to Gitmo, but Gitmo is only the finest military detention facility on earth, and already has a war crimes court. How about we rent out space to countries who are connected to the ISIS fighters? They could visit them, bring them hot tea and crumpets, facilitate visitations for their families, oh, it could be nice!

As MCPO Roger Collins pointed out we can't strip natural born citizens of their citizenship here in the US. I've never been a big fan of stripping anyone of their citizenship; I've always seen it as one country trying to pawn off their problems on the rest of the world.
While the Trump administration will likely lose the Hoda Muthana case (because she is a natural born citizen), even if she were naturalized I think the better response would be for us to take her back and prosecute the heck out of her. At least then we know what she's up to as she sits in a cell somewhere.

Don't be ignorant. The rioters at the Capital were not armed, had no intention of overthrowing the government, and were mostly peaceful. Most of the idiots entered the building for selfies. None have been charged with sedition, insurrection, or any violent crimes. The absolute worst thing they did was delay Congress.
