MSgt Roger Younce always thankful for your masterful/articulate reads/shares. Well depicted and conveyed my friend.

So, why did I want to photograph the old gas station? I took the time to photograph the gas station because one day I knew it would be gone and lose its original history. I did not want the people of Jamestown to forget the old gas station and it's historial value to the town. For some people, It may be a little sad to know the original gas station will no longer with us, but we are fortunate because the new owners of the property are taking great strides and working hard to keep the original feel of the property in tack. They are keeping the look of the entrance as original as possible, refurbishing the old tiles of the roof, and even having the original gas pumps restored. The owners understand how important the old gas station’s history is to the already historic town of Jamestown.

I will continue to photograph old historic locations because I am fully aware that nothing last forever and being a photographer allows me the opportunity to capture a part of history. That is what I love to do.

Same reason I try to get photos of old barns & homestead buildings when I'm out traveling. They won't be there forever and once they're gone, nothing like that will be rebuilt. So many are gone already just from when I was young.
