When I see them pile on late charges I always wonder what is going on and if they believe in their initial charge?

Thats's my take too. It doesn't bode well for the prosecution. I don't trust any of the "Times" magazines as far as I can paper the bottom of my bird's cage, but they certainly seem to have a 'hang 'em' agenda with this case.

Sounds like a leadership, if even half of the allegations made by the AOIC are true. Tread lightly, breaking off the pointy end of the spear of our best fighters in the world could cost many lives now and in the future.

All I can say is there better be a damn stab wound that matches any knife this guy owns. if not, then somebody has a lot of explaining to do. When 'leadership' cares more about the enemy's welfare than its own troops, its time to go to the house.

Right on. However...if we asked a question on RP, such as, ‘in general, how much do you trust the Iraqi military?’, I think the answers would be fairly one sided. The Iraqi officers have absolutely no interest whatsoever? Maybe the following is a possible interest. Iraqi officers don’t want to be seen by ISIS as delivering up a young, wounded ISIS fighter to American forces for brutal execution.
If our enemies are good at anything, it’s propaganda. ‘See, the Iraqi officers that brought wounded little Haji to the Americans knew he would be killed by them. Those officers and their families live over in stinkwater village”. That’s quite a bias and a great reason to vouch for the niceness of an accused killer.
(*i don’t know if he’s guilty or not. I do know that the statements made by two Iraqi officers don’t sway me. And they’re certainly not unbiased).

His OIC not doing what was needed could have stopped much - if not all -of this as if indeed Gallagher's cheese did slid off his cracker. His own statements against Gallagher if true highlight his own failures - while he might not face charges - leading SEAL's should not be in his near future.
As for Gallagher - I feel his lack of tack is what got him into hot water - perception is everything - just not sure how much was instilling fear/killing with extreme prejudice or criminal malice - I think that will be hard to prove in court.
