I do know when We had South Vietnamese Troops working the perimeter with us we always had our own people nearby as We felt We could not depend on them. The exception was those doing Law Enforcement, the Quan Cahn (Military Police) they were a lot sharper and more focused on their duties. there were much higher standards to become a QC (MP) and both their uniforms and demeanor showed that. I had worked with both types so had some personal experience with that. The QCs We worked with also tended to speak both Vietnamese and fluent English and some rode patrol with us in our vehicles.

Great comments Senior. It’s always informative to hear from folks who were there rather than reading about it. Especially the AF side of things as most military history I find is from the Army or USMC perspective. Thank you for your insightful comments.
