Good evening my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell. I am trying to catch up to responding to interesting posts that I missed. Your word posts certainly intrigue me and require thought in responding.
Audacious, bodacious, contagious, courageous, and other words ending in ous also end in us :-)
We generally aspire to receive accolades that we are indeed appropriately audacious and/or courageous. However we cringe at the idea that we may be contagious or exposed to somebody who is.
As a side note, bodacious is defined as excellent, attractive and audacious in a way considered admirable. Therefore audacious and bodacious are interchangeable in appropriate contexts. :-)
