I knew they would come up with an excuse, but I expected better than this. They've never worried about traffic disruption in their time in office--they have professionals who know how to map out an hour's route. Do it all the time. They are slipping in their creativity.

Ok Ok OK...this excuse is not good but iti is an excuse. WHAT WE DON"T KNOW IS THE INTEL PIECE OF THIS... THere may have been intel on the route that day or his travels that were announced in advance forcing him to delay to the next day...unannounced. It happens. It has happened numerous times in the past with other presidents. This ins't partisan...I remember when Clinton was traveling somewhere in Europe. Right before he was to get in the motorcade, credible intle came out that a bridge and a chokepoint on his route had been compromised and potentially dangerous. They stopped the motorcade and put him back on Air Force one until the routes were cleared and they could find another route. It took several hours and yes the intel was correct as a backpack bomb was found under the connector bridge. I beleive something similar happened to Bush...It happens and they may not want to let the Intel out. Those are things that happen...not saying it was necessarily the case here but it could have been and we would never be the wiser.

So a lame excuse like bad weather that wasn’t that bad that makes him look selfish and weak while also humiliates our country is better than telling us they had a legitimate security concern which could and perhaps should have been shared with other nation leaders. Wouldn’t you agree?

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Do you really think Secret Service, military intelligence, and other supporting agencies only planned one route? I’ve planned many DV days for major exercises that had GO and SES interest. Air travel to field locations was plan A; plan B due to inclement weather was always planned. So I’m not buying it that Secret Service didn’t have a plan B even out of security concerns. He’s traveling by air so what was the threat, a rogue terrorist with a SAM? A rogue pilot? Not buying the security concern otherwise they would have told us without the specifics.

MAJ James Woods they may have had a plan b but not for a specific security threat.. and if they shared it with the public then that could have given the Intel source away potentially putting them at risk for getting future Intel or ultimately losing their life.
