I am playing catch-up my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell. Between system reboots and distractions somebody or something deserved to be admonished :-)
I have been on the receiving end of admonishment much more than giving. That is one are where I do not believe it is better to give than receive.:-)
Among aardvarks, artichokes, amphibians, alligators, apples, appaloosas, and most other nouns they is no admonishing since they obey their creator absolutely. Of course far-too-many human beings believe it is appropriate to admonish their pet birds, cats, dogs and even fish.
I prefer to limit admonishment, admonishing and all other derivatives of admonish - encouragement is the better way IMHO.

Seeing this clip makes me chuckle. Many, many years ago, when I was still on active duty, my brother and his family were stopping by our house at Ft Ord enroute to Disneyland. So I thought I would get a movie for his sons to watch (young teens). I had to pick a safe one, though, as my brother is a religious fanatic who homeschooled his kids, didn't let them listen to rock music, and went to church run Halloween substitutes because Halloween w as too much about the devil. Of course, the use of foul language was out of the question.

So I rented Heartbreal Rudge, because I remember seeing it and thinking it was just a good, fun military movie that the boys would enjoy. Because I was in an infantry battalion at the time, It never even registered on me that there were obscenities spoken in that movie. As God is my witness, I remembered only really funny stuff about that movie.

So we gather around to watch it, and needless to say, the language that didn't register on me made quite an impression on the boys and my brother. The boys are giggling, and my brother is giving me a "what the fuck" look except I'm not sure what people who never say fuck actually call that look. So suddenly I realize that the film, is, in fact, filled with language my brother would never allow the boys to hear/use. But I insisted we finish watching, telling him it gets better as it goes on.

When the movie ends, I say let's just put on some music, and to tweak my brother I put on Steppenwolfs greatest hits, starting with The Pusher, with its refrain "God damn the pusher man".
