It’s common practice when finding a new hobby or passion to be inspired by someone or something. In the political world and across the spectrum, prominent figures stand out as role models for many. Whether Republican or Democrat, these leaders have influenced permanent change in their party’s values and ideals, while inspiring many in the process.
Mark Reed Levin is currently a nationally syndicated radio host and hosts Life, Liberty, and Levin, on Fox News. From Philadelphia, Mark Levin, at age 60, has made and continues to make a lasting impact in furthering conservatism.
His start in the conservative movement came in 1981, where he served as an adviser in the Reagan administration, eventually serving as chief of staff to Edwin Meese, the Attorney General during the Reagan years. After his brief stint in the Reagan administration, “The Great One” turned his focus to radio, where he became a regular guest on The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show, eventually earning his own radio show slot in 2002. His radio show has been nationally syndicated since 2006, and just recently he was nominated for The National Radio Hall of Fame. Life, Liberty, and Levin is his weekly Fox News TV show, airing every Sunday night. During his hour time slot, he invites guests on to talk about cultural and economic issues plaguing our country.
On top of his radio and TV successes, Mark Levin is no stranger to other social accomplishments. In 2001, he was presented the Ronald Reagan Award by the American Conservative Coalition and the Defender of the First Amendment Award at CPAC in 2014. Furthermore, Levin involves himself with Troopathon, a non-profit that focuses on sending care packages to our troops overseas, as well as Freedom Concerts.
As an author of various books, Mark Levin has demonstrated the sometimes harsh truth on the past, present, and future of American ideals. Maybe his most eye-opening book, Plunder and Deceit examines the unfortunate future suffering of the American people, caused by past presidential administrations. The book focuses heavily on the numbing financial crises that lie ahead and how the population can vote in real solutions. His other books include Rediscovering Americanism, Ameritopia, and Liberty and Tyranny.
During the 2016 Presidential Election cycle, Levin endorsed Texas Senator Ted Cruz, while hopping on the dilapidated “Never Trump” train. But, during one of his daily radio shows, he explained to his audience his intention to vote for Donald Trump for President. Levin went on to elaborate on his surprising decision, explaining that he can’t control the “dumb things” he says.
Today, Levin, like most fair and open-minded conservative pundits, praises Trump for his accomplishments, while criticizing his wrongdoings. He has even gone as far as to say that President Trump is more conservative than Bush 41 and 43. In an interview with The Hill, Levin elaborates on his statements, explaining Trump’s respectable conservative politics, especially concerning his appellate court nominees. Conversely, Levin has expressed his displeasure with President Trump in areas concerning amnesty, spending, and trade.
For decades, Mark Levin has spread true conservative ideals far and wide. His service in the Reagan administration is admirable, and his almost 20 years in radio shows a masterful dedication. As a true representative of the conservative movement, Levin hasn’t strayed away from his constitutionalist ideals, he has remained a consistent voice throughout the years, and has brought truth to light.
To any young person in the conservative movement, I urge you to familiarize yourself with The Great One. Back away from those who resort to name calling, victim blaming, and immature behavior, and align yourself with a consistent and intellectually honest voice. Align yourself with a true constitutionalist, devoted to the advancement of Jeffersonian politics. Align yourself with someone like Mark Levin, a fervent disciple of conservatism."
