Thank you my friend SGT (Join to see) for sharing the music video of The Doors performing on The Ed Sullivan Show "People Are Strange/Light My Fire" in honor of the fact that on September 17, 1967, after The Doors were banned from The Ed Sullivan Show after Jim Morrison broke his agreement with the show’s producers.

1. "People Are Strange" Jim Morrison came up with some lyrics for this song during a walk with Robby Krieger to Laurel Canyon. They went there because Morrison felt depressed that day, came to Krieger's place, and they decided to watch the sunset in the canyon.

2. "Light My Fire" This song began with a conversation between Robby Krieger and Jim Morrison when Krieger asked Morrison, what he should write about. Jim answered, "Something universal, which won't disappear two years from now." Krieger decided to write about one of the elements among air, earth, fire, water. He chose fire because he liked the song "Play With Fire" by The Rolling Stones.

"People Are Strange"
Lyrics
"People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
When you're strange
When you're strange"

"Light My Fire"
Lyrics
"You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire"

It’s an ok kind of song... it’s definitely a “mood” song. Being in the right mood to listen to it. I’ve heard it early in the morn’g when we were getting breakfast together for the Airmen.. getting off track a bit... I had a cassette that had Tchaikovski’s 1812 overture. I put it in our kitchen’s outfit and cranked it up right when the Cannons went off. We had several Security Police come back to see if something had exploded... They stated the effect of the cannons made a big impression on them.
In the end I was asked not to bring that tape in anymore... I thought we needed some classier music and the 1812 overture would be a start...
So much for that idea.. eh?
