MSG Johnathan Mathes There’s actually nothing wrong with any of what you’ve said. BUT history isn’t history for all. HIStory is written by the victor. If one doesn’t go out and look for ones self, history will remain HIStory. Now regarding being victims of history, it’s a double edged sword. When HIStory is used in various forms to create history, and you see it, it impacts you directly, that HIStory is creeping into YOURstory. For some folks slavery isn’t that far removed if your ancestors were born anywhere immediately before or after slavery was abolished. That’s depending on years lived great-great grandparents? Maybe three? That means what they saw and experienced isn’t that far off made worse if you’re living in the same area they were. Everyone should want to make HIStory their story. Improve and change the disposition. HIStory can become history if you’re willing to fight, take a few lumps, and ensure those behind you know about both HIStory, history, and their roles in the future. This isn’t towards you at all, but am early response to those who’ll comment to me; only very stupid people tell Jews the Holocaust didn’t happen. Rarely will you see anyone stand up and not rebuke whoever says it. No one will rebuke them when they use HIStory to show those who are young about history and how not to repeat it. No one ever tells them to get over it, whine about tearing monuments to hate down. It’s the right thing to do. Why should my HIStory be any less celebrated when I have a robust history, and want to use the future to tear down monuments of hate, and rewrite HIStory to become MYStory, which will finally be history? Why tell me to get over it? Because I’m stepping on your HIStory.

MSG Johnathan Mathes - There are extensive studies done on what is known as intergenerational trauma. It is not a matter of choosing to "let it define them" or not. It is something they have learned from the beginning of their lives. It is instilled in them, much like some with religion (or politics).
Yes, theoretically, in today's modern society, they should be able to move on. But it is not that easy.

SSG Warren Swan - sorry this is a late response.. a couple things... id say lots of folks just want to forget .. and would like others to forget the history... but if we forget history and what has happened then we are bound to repeat it. at one point my family did own slaves < not a fond moment>... but i'm over a hundred years removed from that.. should i be held a accountable, or do i just acknowledge my history and move on? i don't forget... and i don't condone the actions by by ancestors... but i'm not them period... Secondly this Representative needs a history lesson, i wonder if he knows that that the Israeli state is a direct result of the Holocaust? so in theory he is denying that Israel exist currently and therefore is not fighting the resettlement issues that dominate headlines.... where is this guys head... is this someone who we would want in either party to lead folks? this kinda stuff just baffles me... but yet folks will blindly follow him ...Kinda like some screwed up leaders who are followed just to see what new and interesting things they can fuck up today...

MSG Stan Hutchison - sorry late response... i guess that's very true. i'm not saying for anyone to forget their history, but we have to find away to move on together. The human race is flawed and has been for as long as it existed... we have to choose to be better people, realize when we make mistakes and make amends for them.. not a hundred or two hundred years later but right then... the cycle has to be broken.... we cannot continue to elect democrats or republicans that lie cheat and steal.. and do nothing... we have to stop these kinds of candidate<legally>... its a real shame that this guy was even put up for election.

Actually it is a good thing that they kept such meticulous records. Those records were what helped the Nuremburg prosecutors against the Nazis. Also, it helps in reminding future generations that it actually did happen. Even though there is a much larger group of people who are denying it, it is hard to argue against those meticulous records. But some people still believe the Holocaust is just a Jewish propaganda story to advance the cause of the Jews against the pure white people. 4Chan is littered with that garbage.
