This happened to me when I retired. We had two full Colonels on the base with kids in college and they let them transfer the benefits to them while they wereon active duty and already had retirement orders...I had more time in service and went to transfer mine and they told me I had to serve two more years...when I had more time than all the rest. Told them it wasn't worth it. My daughter had a college fund and didn't need it but it would have been nice since it was promised in the beginning...once again changing the rules after the game has started...not right. IMHO.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth
Lt Col Charlie Brown - Absolutely it did...water under the bridge now but it infuriates me when they are doing this to young troops with kids planning on college and they were planning on using this to help them.

How neat, assholes are punishing those with longevity. What a way to salute our warriors.

Well there goes that bargaining tool in divorce proceedings with children.
