Hope he lives - if he wants to. Maybe he got the idea from the Fed that discharged while dancing. They're both in deep kimchi.

CWO3 (Join to see) that’s exactly what I was thinking Chief. Accidentally shot himself in the abdomen! Possible but unusual unless he had his finger on the trigger as he unholstered his weapon.

SFC William Farrell I did some really stupid, careless things during my days in uniform (well throughout my entire life for that matter)but, my behavior does not hold a candle to the Marine. You, Marines do everything better than the rest of us - this included?? Just kidding, guys. No need to send Force guys out after me. But, on a serious note, I feel for this guy and I am sure he feels for himself. Can you say E-1?

You know guard duty at the Commandant's house probably doesn't go to screw ups, so this guy is just dead meat.

PVT Mark Brown I just noticed you are in Roseville. I was just there last month. Some of my family lives there including a 40 year old niece who I just lost to breast cancer.

I can fill an encyclopedia of all the stupid things I did in and out of uniform over a 20 year period for sure. Just for example there was an incident where I let go a 30 round mag on an M16 manning the comm room in Vietnam. It was just me, drunk. I was put in for a Bronze Star which was downgraded because of that little incident!

SFC William Farrell Give me a holler if you head this way again. I am sorry to hear about your niece, God rest her soul.
Your stupid $h!t story ranks right up there. Now lets find a soldier WITHOUT such a story. I don't think one exists.

Thanks for sharing the embarrassing incident which thankfully did not result in loss of life SFC William Farrell
The Marine who apparently accidently shot himself and suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, is now in “stable condition with a non-life threatening injury,” Marine Corps spokeswoman Capt. Colleen McFadden said.
It seems he probably discharged a pistol into his abdomen. It was probably fired from the side as opposed to from the front and was a clean shot which probably will help the wound healing.
This marine will no doubt be subject to being the butt of jokes from now on.
Thanks for mentioning me PVT Mark Brown
I expect the 15-6 investigation will rule accidental discharge with recommendation for no criminal charges and administrative actions which may well include discharge form the USMC.
Hopefully this marine will recover fully and his honor will be restored over time.

Thanks for the positive update. This marine will either get out as soon as he can or become a leader of lore.
