Thank you TSgt Joe C. for reminding us that on May 13, 1898 Thomas Edison sued the American Mutoscope Company, claiming that the studio has infringed on his patent for the Kinetograph movie camera.

In 1909, Edison joined forces with other filmmakers to create the Motion Pictures Patents Corp., an organization devoted to protecting patents and keeping other players from entering the film industry. Thankfully in 1917 the Supreme Court of the United States dissolved the Motion Pictures Patents Corp.. By the following year, the Edison Company had abandoned the film industry.

Guess it may be the times, but Edison seemed to have a lot of such feuds.
