Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for sharing the music video of Ian Werner "throwing down an acoustically pleasing recording of the auld hornpipe "The Drunken Landlady"
Turlock Junior High School is the setting once again. The weather this evening was superbly mild and pleasant, hence the absence of a tomato red sweaty face and parched hair."

Never really appreciated bagpipes until I worked with someone who played them in my civilian life. The stories behind songs written for bagpipes that he told me were fantastic.

I did a funeral at the veteran's cemetery in San Antonio and there was a bagpiper. Almost as moving as TAPS

I was part of a detail where the piper played going home when the casket left the hearse and walked over to the gravesite. The piper did about 4 songs and then we did the rifle and taps.. We left at trail arms and the piper played a little march for us as we went back to our convoy. There must of been a couple hundred.. There was a reception at the post and a woman and another lad did the sword dance.., has anybody had haggis?
(Stuffed sheep stomach ).. I gmhad it up at RCL branch at Guelph several years ago.., if made properly it is quite yummy !

Bagpipes always remind me of where my ‘family’ is from and how proud I am of my heritage!

Excellent share! Never had haggis and probably won’t if I know WHAT I ‘m eating! Although, I tried a lot of food while stationed in Germany! Still Love bratwurst! (That’s the German part of my heritage enjoying food from its home land) .SSgt Boyd Herrst
