"The Gael" is one of the most haunting pieces of music in the Scottish repertoire. We rarely think about or hear harmonies in pipe music, but "The Gael" has four parts, and makes for a unique sound when all parts are being played at the same time. Some other tunes have "seconds", but rarely "thirds" and "fourths". Scotland The Brave comes in two versions - "high-hand", and "low-hand".
