Great read. I remember learning the "one if by land, two if by sea." Not sure they bother to teach that anymore...

The day of that march on Lexington and Concord April 19th is a state holiday in Massachusetts and celebrated there. there are reenactments in both Lexington and Concord and a march along battle road between them by British reenactment troops. The march of the British troops is still signaled by the lanterns in the steeple of the Old North Church in Boston. Paul Reveres Historic ride is also reenacted to warn of the British Regular troops on the march. They ae met on the Lexington Battle Green by Captain Parker and His minutemen, the scene of the shot heard round the world. Companies of Minutemen respond from the surrounding towns of Middlesex county to battle the British. The Holiday is know as Patriot's Day. Three of My own relatives had marched with the Minutemen from Sudbury, Massachusetts to Concord's Old North Bridge on April 19th 1775. The Boston Marathon is also run on Patriots day.
