Because drama sells. We live in a world where "celebrities" are prized above those who teach, defend and protect us. Where more people are outraged over how much skin a celebrity shows than the way we treat our teachers. Face it, news outlets cater to those who read it and that is us. If we want news outlets to change the way they deliver us the news then we have to change as well, do we want the truth or do we want to be entertained? If we want smarter news then we need to be smarter consumers.
