Mary Lyon- American Reformer/ Women's Educator
description
Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that February 28 is the anniversary of the birth of American pioneer in women's education Mary Mason Lyon established the Wheaton Female Seminary in Norton, Massachusetts, (now Wheaton College) in 1834.
If she were alive today, she would probably be lauded from coast to coast for her ground-breaking efforts to educate girls and women.
Rest in peace Mary Lyon!
